A completely different nose that is more animale in character with more earth and crushed herbs as well that can also be found on the deep and exceptionally rich flavors that offer outstanding volume and sève on the palate drenching finish that goes on and on

The price of this tends to be set by the market (although it was around 250 euros with the producer's wine club)

Shafer, Napa Merlot Vintage:2011 A dark and rich red(15. 1% alcohol), Good dark red. Musky currant and milk chocolate aromas are complemented by smoky oak. Rich and truffley on the palate, with inviting sweetness to the flavors of cherry, licorice, coffee bean and fresh herbs. Doesn't have the depth of the best vintages here but this broad, chewy wine finishes with sweet tannins and very good persistence. Stephen Tanzer
