Escape from HorrorwoodYou've suddenly landed in Horrorwood, a nasty place full of monsters and evil beings. You must navigate this world of wicked beasts to find an escape route to the Portal that will get you back home! Its all in the cards, revealing creatures and locations along the path until you can find your way out. Escape from Horrorwood is a very different race game where each player is trying to find a hidden path out of Horrorwood, a land infested with monsters.

What’s most unique about the game is the use of both custodial (surround a target piece) and intervention capture (move into a space between two enemy pieces)

but when European colonists first recorded it in the 1850s

and an alternate win condition that some players prefer

It was an aspect of their social life and a stage for the strict etiquette of the day

Pieces are captured by short jumps

The Tiger eliminates Leopards with a simple jump to an empty space beyond

Each of two players places one piece on each of 7 points on the outer edges of their own side of a 25-point grid

but it's really an adaptation of a couple of very ancient African board games

and players can choose the rules they like best

but do not share any paths

or capture pieces on any turn
