A Pretty Late Victorian Walnut Sewing / Trinket Box with Exotic InlayOrigin: English Period: Late Nineteenth Century Provenance: Unknown Date: c. 1890 1900 Height: 4. 25 inches Depth: 6. 5 inches Width: 10 inches The rectangular box in beautifully aged walnut with a patina that is full of character, having a satinwood lozenge shaped escutcheon and further lozenge shaped exotic fruit and softwood motif to the top. There is a nice inscription to the inner lid that reads; Maggie Williams, Prize for Needlework, August 26th

with a few knocks and some tarnish at the extremities
